After 4 years of undergrad at the University of California - Santa Cruz, a broke student returned to his home town of Albuquerque New Mexico. Faced with the prospect of getting a real job, said student instead fled back to academia, as a graduate student in physics at the University of New Mexico. Many years later this is where he remains.
